Choosing your rope

  • 10mm Flow Rope — Light and responsive. Ideal for technique, recovery, high-speed flow, or anyone starting out or returning from upper-body sensitivity.
  • 12mm Flow Rope — The everyday standard. Clear feedback, sustainable for longer sessions, and the best starting point for most adults.
  • 14mm Flow Rope — Stronger feedback and greater demand on the coiling core. Perfect once the fundamentals feel solid and you want more rotational power.

Frequently asked questions

What is rope flow?

Rope flow is a movement practice that uses continuous rotational patterns with a weighted rope. Instead of jumping, you swing the rope around the body in fluid figure-8 and spiral motions. The focus is on training the spinal engine — using the spine as the primary driver of rotation and locomotion rather than bracing the core statically. It builds coordination, left-right balance, mobility, and athletic power with very low impact.

Which diameter should I start with?

Most adults begin with the 12mm ropes. It offers clear feedback without being too heavy, making it ideal for learning the foundational patterns. Choose the 10mm ropes if you want a lighter option for technique work, recovery, or high-speed flow. Move to the 14mm ropes once the basics feel solid and you want stronger feedback and greater demand on the coiling core.

How do I adjust the length?

Simply tie a knot (or two) in the rope to shorten it. Stand on the middle of the rope with one foot — the handles should reach roughly between your armpits and hips, depending on preference. The length is fully adjustable so the same rope works for a wide range of heights.

Is it different from a jump rope?

Yes. A jump rope is light and designed to be jumped over. A flow rope is thicker, heavier, and never jumped. It is swung in continuous rotational patterns around the body to train spinal rotation, weight shift, and full-body coordination. The movement is smooth, rhythmic, and joint-friendly.

Where are the ropes made?

The ropes are manufactured in Australia and finished by us in Hervey Bay. Each one is built for clean rotation, durability, and the specific feedback needed for spinal engine training.

One tool. Infinite patterns. Train the engine that drives human locomotion.
